Not So Down with the Sickness

On Thursday night, the United States was addressed by America’s Preacher, Billy Graham. Here is the link to the vide… (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bba2Dqaw6SI). After watching this video, I am not sure if we as humans can really comprehend the condition in which they exist. I woke up yesterday with a cold. Most of the time a person can function with the cold except for just a little hindrance that requires a tissue fro time to time throughout the day. But as yesterday and today have traveled on, I have found myself even more impacted with whatever it is that I have, and I feel like BLAH!!!.

While I was watching the video by the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association, I realized that this is possibly how human beings view their condition in sin and even themselves. Sometimes we do not feel as if our lives are that bad and just because we have one little sinful habit in our lives we feel that we are better than the town drunk, drug addict, murderer, or pedophile. We know that we are as filthy as rags and according to Romans 6:23. Now that doesn’t just include those mentioned above, but this also includes the little sweet grandmas that have never missed Sunday School. According to the Bible every soul needs Christ. This isn’t just an insurance policy that you are going to cash in the day you die. Its not like you can tell everyone that you follow Christ and then live like you always have. If you are going to be a true follower of Christ, then your life will change. Others will see that in you. Its not something you have to go around proving and trying to holier than the next guy, but it will be a change from the inside out. Once Christ lives in you and you acknowledge that you need him, then you will change.

Now about being sick… Agent Smith told Morpheus in the Matrix that humans were a disease and that AI (Artificial Intelligence) was the cure. Humans do have a disease. At first it doesn’t seem that bad. Maybe you are just like everyone else and you find yourself thinking you are as good as the nest guy. Then one day you find yourself having issues that you question. Maybe you are facing jail, unwanted pregnancy, depression, etc… and you haven’t figured out where all of this may be coming from… We sit around and question… “Why Me?” Then as time goes and this condition that was just a cold at first and we really didn’t take notice, entraps you. You cant move, you don’t even think that you are doing anything wrong anymore because your sin is normal to you.

God says that we are sinners, Adam and Eve (humanity) questions God and then enters sin. If sin entraps you and that is your norm, will you still here Christ calling? Will you still have time to become a follower of Christ? Once your soul passes to eternity, there will not be any more time. Seek Him now!
